Spoiler-free notes: It's good to know that Bashir and O'Brien still play racquetball. There's another dull opening. Oh boy, another Lwaxana episode! And Bareil too? Plus a thinly veiled Thanksgiving parallel (this episode aired right around the same time)?! Oh joy of joys, that sounds awesome!! /sarcasm What happened to Eddington? He was introduced at the beginning of the season as a new security officer, but we haven't seen him since. The O'Brien marital dispute feels like it was written by somebody who isn't married. Men can be idiots, sure, but Miles' character is written as such a stupid moron that it makes absolutely no sense. Though I appreciate that this episode develops the relationship between Odo and Kira (by finally acknowledging Odo's attraction) and that it builds on the O'Brien/Bashir bromance, it's too much of a stupid farce. It's basically A Midsummer Night's Dream with an explanation ripped from "Sarek," but lacking the depth of either. There are a few cute laughs, but on the whole, it's just too much silliness and not enough Star Trek. | |||||||||||
