Spoiler-free notes: It's great that Bashir is trying (and failing) to get Garak to appreciate human literature given Garak's attempts to expose Bashir to Cardassian works. I love Garak's reading of The Boy Who Cried Wolf: "Never tell the same lie twice." The Flaxian is a really good, elaborate make-up job. It's fascinating the way Odo and Garak interact. I'm amazed the writers haven't thought to put them together until now. The cliffhanger has all the wily political players on the board at once--the Cardassians, the Romulans, and the Dominion. Holy crap is that exciting. Knowing that Garak is, in fact, Tain's son adds a lot of dimension to his conversations with Mila and Tain, especially in this first part. | |||||||||||
