When Halloween rolled around, Tommy had two costumes! He started the day in a cute pumpkin outfit, and you can see him in the pictures playing on the bed with his grandma, watching bubbles and chewing on his hat. Later in the day, Tommy had his first experience drinking out of a cup. He thought it was fun and interesting, especially when he poured water on himself. That night, we were all invited to a Halloween party at Uncle John's. We saved his second costume--a baby Batman costume (or possibly Bat-Mite for you hardcore Batman fans out there)--for that. Amelia's never been much of a Halloween person, but I coaxed her into participating, because where Halloween is concerned, I'm still a kid at heart. We opted to go with the whole Batman theme and make our own costumes based on Poison Ivy and the Riddler. Tommy had fun crawling around Uncle John and Aunt Belinda's house, trying to get into their mountain of cat food, and meeting lots of new people. The party was fun, though hot (hence why you can see Tommy's clothes getting removed half-way through). I stayed sober and kept an eye on Tommy, who was, of course, the center of all attention. Everybody got to hold him and play with him, and he was fascinated and engaged the whole time, never getting upset until I tried to put him to sleep in another room.
